Item Units

Item Units are part of Inventory control.
Here you can define the unit measurements in respect to your inventory items as well as the conversion rate between them. For example, 1000 Units = 1 crate, or 100 boxes.
These Item units are reflected on the associated documents for inventory control. Purchases Orders and Inventory documents (Transfers, issues and receipts)
The Items Unit page provides an overview of your current item Units along with a short description.
You can edit a current Item Unit or create a New Unit.

Item Unit Edit Fields
Each field on this record is described below. Mandatory fields are highlighted thus.
Header Name | Description |

Name | The name of the item-unit. |
Description | The description of the item-unit. |
Default | Yes or No. Is this the default item-unit for an item? |
The relationships between item units are described as shown above. Mandatory fields are highlighted thus.
Line Name | Description |
---|---|
Type | to smaller or to bigger - see below. |
Item Unit | The related item unit used in Type - see above. |
Rate | The rate that connects related item units. |
Description | A description generated from entered data. |
Note that item units allow for items to be bought, sold and stocked using different quantities - e.g. Each, Box, Pallet. Item units are used on Purchase Orders, Purchase Invoices, Sales Invoices etc.
